First Hello Get early access

An AI dating coach for men who freeze

Practice out loud. Then go say hi for real.

You talk to your coach by voice. You rehearse the first sentence with a woman in a realistic scene, you get one small mission for this week, and you tell your coach how it went. It counts real conversations, not minutes in the app.

18+. Your coach is an AI and says so. We email you once when it opens.

A real rehearsal with Luna, your coach. AI character, not a real person.

Thinking is easy.
Doing is hard.

The freeze lasts a few seconds. What keeps you stuck is what your mind does next: you weigh, you picture how bad a "no" would feel, and you decide to wait for a better moment. The relief teaches you to wait again next time.

Reading more advice doesn't break that loop. Small repetitions do. Confidence shows up after the attempt, not before it. So First Hello sizes each step to where you are, has you rehearse it out loud, and then sends you out with a deadline.

Built for analytical minds. Each attempt is an experiment: you write down what you expect, you go, you log what actually happened. Most people find their predictions were far too pessimistic.

How a week works

Rehearse, go, report back.

Rehearse out loud

Talk to your coach by voice. She plays a woman in the exact place you'll be: a coffee line, a bookstore, your gym. You practice the first sentence until it feels ordinary.

Take one real step

One small mission with a place and a time: "Saturday at the grocery store, one comment about what she's picking." Freezing still counts as an attempt.

Tell your coach

Describe what happened in plain words. It's logged once, your week's count goes up, and your coach helps with the next step. Attempts count, not results.

The ladder

Five steps. You climb one after three attempts.

  1. 1Eye contact, a smile and a helloTo anyone. The muscle is talking to strangers, not talking to women.Done
  2. 2One light comment about the shared situationSober, in daytime, somewhere she can easily walk away. This week
  3. 3A real conversationYour comment, then two follow-up questions about what she said.Next
  4. 4Share something of yoursA short story of your own, and tell her you're enjoying the conversation.Later
  5. 5A clear, easy-to-refuse askHer number, a coffee or a date, with a graceful exit either way.Later

What it won't do

Not a pickup course. Not an AI girlfriend.

No lines to memorize

Cute or canned openers do worst in the research. You'll practice plain, honest sentences about the moment you're both in.

No keeping you on the app

Your coach caps practice and ends it with a real mission and a deadline. Time in the app is not progress.

No pushing past a "no"

You learn to read a soft no and leave warmly. Making it easy for her to say no is what makes you safe to say yes to.

No fake reassurance

When you ask "will it go well?", your coach asks for your prediction instead, then helps you test it.

Built on research

The coaching follows the evidence, not the gurus.

49%

of US women say being asked out for a drink by someone they don't know is acceptable. The setting and the way you ask decide the rest.

YouGov poll, 2019
87%

of conversations in a week-long "talk to strangers" study went fine with the first person approached, and people's fear of rejection dropped afterwards.

Sandstrom, Boothby & Cooney, 2022
1.2

is the effect size of individual CBT for social anxiety, built on doing the feared thing as a test. First Hello borrows that structure. It is a coach, not therapy.

Questions

Fair questions.

Is the coach a real person?

No. Your coach is an AI with a voice and a face, and it tells you so. It remembers your missions and your progress, and it's built around getting you to real conversations with real people.

I'm very shy. Is this for me?

Yes, that's who it's for. The first step is a hello to anyone, and every step is sized so you can actually do it this week. If anxiety stops you even at the smallest step for a month, your coach will suggest a therapist who does CBT for social anxiety. That's the most proven help there is.

Where should I practice?

Daytime, busy places where talking is normal and she can walk away easily: a coffee line, a grocery store, a class, a club. Not the gym, not public transit, not at night on the street.

What happens to what I tell it?

Your conversations are private to you. We don't sell your data, and you can delete your history at any time.

Your next conversation is one small step away.
